The 90-day experiment

I'm marketing my agency with the e-commerce playbook.

I've challenged myself to run Nomads' marketing the way an e-commerce brand would, for 90 days, just to see what happens. E-commerce brands grow on UGC: real customers filmed using the product. My product is my IP. So these episodes are my UGC, a repeatable series of my audience experiencing my IP live.

Why I built the Revenue Per Visitor™ Diagnostic

Three client stories that broke the marketing rules I'd been taught.

After three years of fast growth with Conversion Quizzes™, my LinkedIn was restricted, and for the first time I had space to step back. I went through every client project and every metric, connecting the dots behind the big “WHYs” and “WHAT IFs” I'd been too busy to chase.

Each of these businesses was following a piece of conventional marketing wisdom. Each one was leaving serious revenue on the table because of it. Brace yourself: they might make you question what you think you know about marketing, too.

Conventional wisdom #1

“If your ROAS is healthy, your ads are working.”

D2C · GolfBays, golf simulators
What challenged it

GolfBays had a healthy 6× ROAS. Then we looked past the click: it took 2,500 website visitors to book a single demo.

The question it raised for me

“If the ads are ‘working’, who's responsible for the 2,499 people who leave?”

£96,000in 12 days, on the same ad spend
The situation
440,000 Shopify sessions and a 6× ROAS. On the ads team's spreadsheet, everything looked great.
The #1 constraint
One demo per 2,500 visitors, a 0.04% conversion rate. The ads team was measured on ROAS. What happened after the click technically fell under CRO, but there was no CRO lead, so nobody owned the visitors who left.
What we did
Rebuilt the buying experience with a Conversion Quiz™ that matched each buyer to their complete simulator setup, so visitors could engage before being asked to decide.
The result
One demo per seven quiz takers, a 14% conversion rate, and £96,000 in new revenue in 12 days. Same traffic, same ad spend.
Conventional wisdom #2

“Build authority on LinkedIn and selling becomes a breeze.”

Course creator · video mastermind
What challenged it

A client whose LinkedIn posts pulled around 300 comments each launched a $6,000 offer, booked 27 calls, and closed one.

The question it raised for me

“If authority fills the calendar, why doesn't it close the calls?”

$8K → $108Kmonthly revenue
The situation
Massive authority and visibility on LinkedIn. When he launched his $6,000 offer, people flocked to book calls.
The #1 constraint
27 calls booked, 26 lost. He thought he was terrible at sales. He wasn't. His offer gave buyers no compelling reason to choose him over their alternatives.
What we did
Dug into his buyers' objections and repositioned his message around Creative Delivery™, a Contrarian POV™ that made him the only real option in his industry.
The result
The following week he booked 31 calls and closed 29. Monthly revenue went from $8,000 to $108,000.
Conventional wisdom #3

“The main reason people don't buy is price.”

B2B2C SaaS · audio tech for gamers
What challenged it

An audio-tech SaaS company couldn't get gamers to try its product, even after switching to a free model.

The question it raised for me

“If it's free and people still won't try it, what's really stopping them?”

$2Min ad spend saved, by the founder's estimate
The situation
A strong product for gamers, and a price that went all the way to zero. People still didn't try it.
The #1 constraint
We interviewed the CEO, CMO, gamers, sales, ads and go-to-market teams. Nobody had the answer until we spoke to the product team: gamers believed their Dolby and Sony devices already had the features this product promised. Even for free, trying it meant changing a setup they were happy with.
What we did
Clarified what made the product different and carried that message through the buying experience, messaging, ads and investor pitches.
The result
The founder estimated it saved $2 million in ad spend.
What connected all three

Nobody who touches revenue was on the same page.

As I mapped what drove the big revenue jumps across our client projects, the same two problems kept showing up. The biggest leaks weren't hiding inside one team. They were hiding between them.

Problem 1

Teams track their metrics in isolation.

The ads team doesn't look at sales numbers because it doesn't believe its work affects them. It massively does.

Problem 2

So the spreadsheets lie, both ways.

A metric that looks great on one team's sheet can be holding revenue back. A metric that looks bad can be quietly driving growth.

Why I'm filming these episodes

My audience was taken away overnight.

LinkedIn · 25 March 2026

“We've placed a temporary restriction on your profile.”

Three years of relationships, a 14,000-follower profile, and the channel that grew my team from 3 to 13. Gone in one morning. I'm still locked out.

I could spend the next two years rebuilding an audience from scratch. Instead, I'm putting the Revenue Per Visitor™ Diagnostic in front of the right people now, one founder and CMO at a time, on camera.

Not for the views. Because I believe in the problem it solves.

What's in it for you

You give us 15 minutes. Here's what you get back.

Who I'm casting

Founders and CMOs who want quantum leaps, not bigger budgets.

  • You're a founder, CMO, VP of Marketing or Head of Growth.
  • You're already spending on content, ads, or both.
  • You want month-on-month leaps in growth, and spending more isn't the answer you're after.
  • You're happy to react honestly on camera. Surprised, annoyed, called out: that's the good stuff.
10,000+visitors a month across your online ecosystem: website, socials, YouTube, podcast, email. It all counts.

07Average deal size or order valueWhat a typical customer spends.
08Email revenue, last 12 monthsHow much came from your list.
Questions

Before you book

Is this a sales call?

No. There's no pitch on the recording. The Q&A afterwards is my thank-you for your time, and it's about your growth, not our services.

Do I have to share my numbers on camera?

Only what you're comfortable with. Ranges work, and anything you want hidden gets blurred or cut before you see the edit.

Where will the episode be published?

On Nomads' Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube, with you and your business tagged. We also run paid ads to it, so it reaches founders and marketing leaders beyond our own following.

What if I don't like how it turns out?

You get 48 hours to review the edit before anything goes live. Tell us what to change or cut and we will.

What do I need on the day?

A quiet room, a camera, and rough numbers for the eight questions above.
